Today, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) became the first professional health association to formally endorse medical-legal partnership. In a resolution presented at its Annual Leadership Forum, the AAP called on the more than 60,000 pediatricians in its membership to collaorate more closely and frequently with legal service professionals. It also specifically promoted medical-legal partnership as a strategy to improve the health and well-being of children. The AAP joins the American Bar Association in its support of medical-legal partnership; the later passed a similar resolution in August of this year. Click here to read the full resolution.
