Download the ABA resolution and report to the House of Delegates
The American Bar Association (ABA), a professional organization with more than 400,000 members, passed a resolution encouraging all in the legal profession to dedicate time at medical-legal partnerships to specifically address patients’ health and well-being:
“RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association encourages lawyers, law firms, legal services agencies, law schools and bar associations to develop medical-legal partnerships with hospitals, community-based health care providers, and social service organizations to help identify and resolve diverse legal issues that affect patients’ health and well-being.”
The ABA is the first professional association to formally endorse medical-legal partnership.
