Jacky Baños is a Senior Research Associate with the Department of Health Policy and
Management in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at GW. Jacky manages, designs,
and executes research studies about transforming and improving public health and health
services. She is an advocate for how public health investment and improvement can reducing
health disparities and improving health equity, especially for underserved and historically
marginalized communities. She has worked on several projects including a study on
strengthening Missouri’s capacity to respond to public health crises, a cost evaluation of
teaching health centers, and an environmental scan of Medical-Legal Partnerships in health
centers. Jacky has conducted research on how hospitals in California address community
benefit requirements, growing and sustaining the Community Health Worker field in Missouri,
and Missouri’s public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic among other projects. She
previously served as a Presidential Fellow at George Washington University and worked in the
Office for Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement. She earned her Master of Public
Health in Health Policy and Bachelor of Science in Public Health from George Washington
University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health.
