Each year, the National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership honors exemplary work done by individuals and programs over the past year to advance the ways we think about the intersection of health and justice. We are now accepting nominations for two awards:
The 2017 Distinguished MLP Advocate Award will honor a practitioner (from health care, law, medicine, nursing, public health, or social work) who has had made a significant contribution to the research, policies, scaling or education that supports the advancement of the medical-legal partnership movement nationally. This particular award recognizes an individual. Nominations from community partners, funders, and other MLP practitioners are welcome. Self-nominations are NOT permitted. The 2017 Outstanding MLP Award will be given to a medical-legal partnership that exemplifies staffing and systems intergration of its partners, and demonstrates impact on health care clinic / institution practice. This particular award recognizes up to two programs. Self-nominations as well as nominations from community partners, funders or other partnerships in the MLP Network are welcome. Award nominations are due by March 6, 2017 at 8 p.m. / 5 p.m. Pacific Time. Awards will be presented on Friday, April 7, 2017, during the MLP Summit.
